Don't go to Buttercooky Bakery for an occasion cake! I ordered a cake two weeks ago for my daughter's baptism and left an invitation for them to use for color inspiration. I received a phone call a week later that the choices I made had an upcharge, which I had no problem paying, even though it wasn't in the original bill. When I picked up the cake an hour before I needed it, I was taken aback by the colors but didn't say anything because I didn't have time to wait and have it fixed. (There was really no fixing it without re-doing the ENTIRE thing) When I took the cake out at the baptism, we saw that it also had my daughter Daphne's name spelled wrong! ( Even though it was right on the order!!) So we had an ugly, embarrassing cake! I called the bakery and the woman I spoke to told me to come in today to show her what the cake actually looked like. When I got there, she agreed that it was nothing like what it was supposed to be, but said that since I took the cake from the premises there was nothing they could do for me. She offered me a $5 credit for having the name spelled wrong- thanks for nothing!! When Buttercooky took over the Reinwald's space, I was hoping they would be as good as Reinwald's.... not even close. And offering me $5?? That's just insulting. I certainly didn't want the cake for free... but they should be embarrassed themselves... and they should have tried to make it right. I'm so disappointed.
This bakery has the most decadent cakes! The staff is helpful, friendly, and kind. I ordered a cake, a pie, and a cannoli and I felt like I would have paid twice what I did. This was previously owned and I was skeptical but Buttercooky Bakery has gone above and beyond.
Excellent baked goods, great coffee, very friendly staff... Just looking at all the goodies in the cases probably adds calories! It's nice to treat yourself sometimes. I had a slice of seven layer cake that was heavenly.
I was very disappointed in the service and after calling the manager and getting, "I am sorry you had to wait so long, "Did not help the matter. Not sure what I was looking for. I ordered the cake a 6 " chocolate and raspberry mouse cake a week before. The day I ordered it there were at least 6 on the shelf. I ordered it paid for it and told them pick up at 10 am. My son went to pick itup for. a surprise shower and he was told it was not made! So he waited 45 mins!!!! So much for preparing ahead. I will not return due to disappointment in service. and. manger's response when I called the next day. This is the first time I have ever written a review on line.
Had a Bridal Shower for my daughter in August.Cannot say enough about the cake. Beautiful job,taste could not be surpassed. I received so manycompliments telling me how delicious the cake was. Price was great compared to many other bakeries. Sohappy i chose Buttercooky Bakery and would definitelychoose them again if I have the need to order anoccasion cake, no hesitation.Great job, Buttercooky !!!!Thank you so much :)
