Don't hire! Just a self glorified plunger who doesn't know anything. My grandpa does better work.
On Friday one of the small toilet cleaner sponges got accidentally flushed in one of our toilets. We waited until Monday to call because it was not an emergency as we had other toilets in the house we could use. My husband called Plumbing helper this morning and gave them hours we would be available for the next few days. The plumber came about 12:25. He removed the sponge from the toilet in less than 2 minutes. He brought me a bill for $240.50. We have used plumbing helper a few times in the past and have never been charged at this ridiculous rate! I will use another plumber next time.
A guy with mullet showed up. Took one look. Yes a look. And wanted to go to work instead of giving me an estimate. I thought that was odd. So when I told him to hold on and give me an estimate he paused for a few seconds, looked at around in my home and quoted $180. $180 to, as he said..."tighten a few things".I guess because my house is clean and I have some nice stuff he figured I was dumb enough to fall for a scam.
TL;DR Incredibly expensive and charged me for work that didn't need done. Without ever looking at where it was leaking- I was charged $175 for 20 minutes of work that anyone could do (replaced a spout faucet). This work had absolutely nothing to do with and also didn't fix my problem. Had the guy listened and actually looked at the leak to begin with he would have realised there was nothing he was willing to do for me. This company ultimately wasted my time and money and made no attempt to correct that. Whole story:Plumber showed up to my house and didn't listen to anything I was saying while explaining the problem- didn't even look at where it was leaking from. Immediately went to the shower and said he should replace the entire inlet valve in the access behind the shower for $300. I didn't think that was the culprit as there were no leaks coming from it, so I said no. So next he said "well its the spout and that will be $175 to replace." Even though I questioned it- he's the plumber and I'm not. He seemed sure, so I let him replace the spout. I thought he meant the spout pipe and fitting but he just replaced the spout faucet itself. Replacing a spout faucet is as simple as screwing on a soda lid- this cost me $175. I was willing to accept that price if I was so dumb to overlook such a simple thing. However as I had suspected, this did not fix my problem. I called and was upset as I was just charged $175 for 20 minutes of work I could have done myself- that had nothing to do with my problem. The guy said something about warranty and so they sent the same fellah back over. He listened this time and looked for about 20 minutes and basically said the whole tub needs to be replaced, which is actually saying "it would cost more for me to take the time to actually figure out the problem than it would to just replace the shower." Which I guess is fair. I still didn't fully trust what he is saying the culprit is.The fellah offered to caulk some stuff but I didn't want him to do anything if it was gonna add to my already ridiculous bill. So I sent him on his way.I'm not gonna call back and try to get the price reduced as I accepted it and I guess that is just their price. No one called back to offer to make anything right as I was charged for work that didn't need done and wasted my time and money. so here is my review. The fellahs all were nice but the price is ridiculous and this company ultimately wasted my time and money.
I called today and they had a guy here within the hour! Both guys I spoke to were very nice. I had to leave before he got here, but my husband was very impressed with him. He was nice and really took care of us. I have used them before and I will continue to use them in the future. They also do no try to over price and rip you off. You can not get better service anywhere else!
